Hand therapy is a specialised form of rehabilitation focused on the treatment of conditions affecting the hand and upper limb, including the wrist, elbow, and shoulder. Hand Therapists are either Occupational Therapists or Physiotherapists who have advanced training and experience in this area.
The Therapists at HULC are all highly skilled in various treatment techniques to help patients recover from injuries or surgeries or manage conditions affecting the upper limb. Treatment modalities offered include splinting, therapy, exercises, wound care and post-operative rehabilitation.
Common conditions treated by Hand Therapists at HULC include fractures and dislocations, tendon and nerve injuries, arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, and repetitive strain injuries such as DeQeuervain’s tenosynovitis. Our goal is to restore function, reduce pain, and improve the overall quality of life for our patients.
