Simone’s career in the health professional began over a decade ago where, following completion of a Bachelor of Medical Imaging at Curtin University, she practiced as a Radiographer. She worked primarily in a large private practice in Perth and St John of God Hospital in Bunbury.
A desire to take on a more therapeutic role saw Simone undertake a career change, graduating from Curtin University with a Master of Occupational Therapy with Distinction in 2016.
Simone’s interest in hand therapy was confirmed during a student placement at HULC while completing her studies. This interest has become a passion since joining the HULC therapy team in late 2016.
Simone is an active member of the hand therapy community, regularly attending Hand Interest Group Meetings (run by the Occupational Therapy Association of WA) and Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA) state meetings. Simone is an Associate Member of the AHTA and is working towards her full membership.
