Laura started her career in health after graduating in 2008 from Hannibal La-Grange College in Missouri, USA, with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree. Upon returning to Australia, Laura worked as a high-school Counsellor, before attending Curtin University where she completed a Masters of Occupational Therapy degree in 2012.
Laura joined HULC as an Occupational Therapist in 2013. Laura is the Research Coordinator for HULC and is involved in running many different research projects, including HULC’s extensive Dupuytren’s Contracture Clinic. Laura also assists our therapy team with in-house research, presentations and auditing our practice so HULC’s treatments comply with international best practice and current trends in hand therapy. Laura also helped to coordinate the opening of HULC’s Rockingham clinic.
Laura regularly presents at state hand therapy interest group meetings, run though the Occupational Therapy Association of WA. Laura also presents to local hospitals on hand injuries, treatment and best practice. Laura is an Associate Member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association and is working towards her full membership.
