Anita graduated from Curtin University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. Anita moved to Queensland for two years, working in the areas of orthopaedic inpatients and geriatric rehabilitation. In 2005, Anita was fortunate enough to combine her love of skiing and interest in hand therapy, accepting a position at Howard Head Sports Medicine Centre in Colorado, USA, to specialise in hand therapy.
Anita returned to Perth in 2008 and joined HULC as a Senior Hand Therapist, where she worked for four and half years, before moving to Melbourne. Anita continued to work in hand therapy privately for Melbourne Hand Therapy and publicly at St Vincent’s Hospital. Upon her return to Perth, Anita was appointed Senior Hand Therapist at Fremantle Hospital, whilst running a small private hand therapy practice in Karratha.
However, the call of the HULC team beckoned, and in 2014 she returned as Branch Development Coordinator and Senior OT. After several years assisting in coordinating the opening of several of HULC’s exciting new clinics, in 2017 Anita was promoted to Manager alongside Vicky Allbrook. Vicky and Anita co manage the dynamic HULC team.
Over the years, Anita has presented at several state based interest groups and conferences as well as the national Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA) Conference in 2010. Anita is a full member of the AHTA.
